Overview
Christchurch City Council is seeking dedicated Customer Service Representatives to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional service across various channels and ensuring each customer enquiry is resolved effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer enquiries face to face, and at times via phone, email, and social media. Provide accurate information while adhering to service standards and operating procedures.
- Resolve conflicts and prevent issue escalation by addressing concerns fairly and respectfully. Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate personnel following prescribed processes.
- Ensure information is accessible and systems are used effectively. Connect customers with relevant Council teams, provide updates, and arrange bookings or appointments as requested.
- Log, monitor, and follow up on service requests. Communicate clear expectations and provide accurate information to customers.
- Handle payments in accordance with financial policies and standards, ensuring cash handling is secure and compliant.
- Process pool entries and follow all supervision and safety procedures for Council-owned Recreation and Sport Facilities.
Qualifications

Hours of work : Part-time, permanent position (20 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, 9 : 45am – 8 : 15pm). Rotating shift roster with earliest start at 5 : 00am and latest finish at 10 : 30pm.
Location : Primarily based at Matatiki Hornby Centre; shifts may be based at other Christchurch City Council Service Hubs or facilities.
Salary : $32.52 – $36.13 per hour. Starting salary based on knowledge, skills and experience, with relativities within the team and organisation.
