Lead Hand Rigger

George Grant Engineering (GGE) is a leading structural steel fabrication and erection company based in Auckland, delivering premium solutions across New Zealand's commercial construction sector.

We're seeking a skilled Rigger to join our site erection team as a leading hand.

About the Role

You'll be working on high-profile commercial projects, erecting structural steel components on-site.

Your expertise in rigging, layout interpretation, and safe work practices will contribute to the precision and safety GGE is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Rig and position structural steel members in line with erection sequences.

Interpret erection drawings and welding detail sheets accurately.

Assist in crane lifting operations under direction of site leadership.

Maintain compliance with all site safety protocols and GGE policies.

What We're Looking For

New Zealand Permanent Resident or Citizen.

Fluent English communication (spoken and written).

Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel erection.

Ability to read and interpret erection layouts.

Current SiteSafe Passport, EWP, and Working at Heights certifications.

Strong understanding of health & safety requirements on top-tier NZ commercial sites.

Team player with a proactive attitude and commitment to safety.
