We're looking for a Junior Mobile Engineer to join our team in Auckland.

You will be responsible for developing products specifically designed to optimise retail merchants' workflows through mobile devices.In this role, you'll be writing clean, well-tested code, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards, as well as ensuring that code reviews are completed promptly to prevent delays and that branches are kept small and frequent for efficient progress.

The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable taking on technical tasks independently while exploring and recommending new technologies.

You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills that enable smooth collaboration across teams.What you'll be doing : Building stuff : This means coding, code reviews, fixing bugs (i.e. tackling the hard debugging), peer programming, incident response, and reverse-engineering tasks, etc.Planning / architecture : This means estimating, collaborating with product, establishing MVP.Learning and teaching : This means participating in things like nerd lunches, chapter reviews, research and meetups, learning from other engineers to "level up" and become more proficient over time, etc.Enabling : This means things like working on shared libraries, contributing to open source content, defining, documenting and evolving best practices for development in their team's area of focus, etc.And a little bit of...Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren't strictly within the scope of your role.What you need to bring : We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following : Some experience as a Mobile Engineer (iOS or Android).

Exposure to modern mobile application development tools and techniques.Previous experience working on mobile applications in one or more languages : Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android).

Understanding of mobile application design principles and user experience.We know that people are more than what's on their CV.
