Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Facade Engineer to join our Facades and Sustainability team in Auckland, New Zealand.
In this role, you will lead facade project delivery and manage client relationships to support the growth of the facades business across New Zealand.
Responsibilities
Lead design engineering for façades on technically complex projects, including concept design, peer review and checking services to maintain high standards.
Oversee engineering computations and structural façade analysis, advice and reporting.
Write and review specifications and schedules to respond to site and construction related queries.
Provide expert façade design advice to internal stakeholders, project managers and clients.
Accountable for all façade documentation including calculations, drawings and specifications.
Review contractor submissions, shop drawings and calculations.
Project management and administration, including managing project financials, personnel and reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Lead preparation of tender submissions and actively contribute to business development aligned with ANZ strategy.
Attend inspections during construction, installation and fabrication as required.
Build and maintain client relationships and develop contacts within the façade industry.
Qualifications
10+ years' experience in a similar role within a consulting environment, familiar with local codes and standards.
Full right to work and live in New Zealand.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil / Structures), Architectural Engineering or similar.
CPEng status highly desired.
Proven experience in façade design engineering within a façade consultancy or contractor with local experience in New Zealand.
Expertise in façade system design and reviewing drawing submissions.
Proficiency in façade & structural finite element software (e.g., Strand7).
Experience producing and reviewing calculations for façade elements and writing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Proven ability to manage delivery of multiple projects.
Strong client management skills, ability to influence and build business.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Desire to mentor junior façade engineers.
