We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join our talented civil construction team in Nelson on a Fixed Term Contract (18 months).

Be part of a company that places a strong emphasis on quality, safety, sustainability, and employee growth, all while delivering impactful infrastructure projects across the region.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and clients to achieve project objectives effectively.Assist in preparing project documentation, including work plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.Monitor project progress, identifying risks and proactively suggesting solutions to maintain smooth workflow.Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide project delivery and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and best practices.Conduct site inspections, health and safety checks, and environmental controls, reporting any issues or improvements as necessary.Contribute to fostering a safe, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.Skills, Experience, and Qualities Required for SuccessBachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering is essential.Experience in civil construction, project engineering, or similar roles is highly regarded.Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork abilities, working effectively with diverse groups of people.Sound IT skills, particularly with project management software and Microsoft Office.Positive and adaptable attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.Full New Zealand driver's licence (Class 1).
