About the Role

Our team in Whangarei currently requires the addition of an experienced Traffic Management Supervisor to look after the provision and installation of safe and appropriate temporary traffic management solutions in line with all legal and contractual requirements.

You will be leading a team of up to 15 permanent staff members as well as working with subcontractors.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need a strong understanding of safe traffic management in the roads maintenance and construction environment. You will also need demonstrable strength in people and performance management, and the ability to train, mentor and develop staff. Advanced stakeholder management skills will allow you to engage with project managers and other internal and external stakeholders who are connected to the Traffic Management function. You will also need demonstrable influencing and collaboration capabilities to deliver solutions that meet both legal compliance and are in the best interests of business performance. You will need demonstrated problem solving skills developed in the roading environment so you can assess a variety of site situations and respond with an appropriate traffic management plan. Knowledge of how to operate appropriate plant and equipment is also essential to success in this role.

Requirements :

• STMS Qualification (Level 2 / 3 is advantageous)
• Strong experience in leading a crew
• 5+ years experience working in Traffic Management with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Knowledge and experience in Traffic Management
• A Valid Class 1 NZ Driver’s license (Class 2 is preferred)
• Take personal responsibility for the safety of your workmates, the environment, public and yourself
• A safety-first attitude – for yourself, your team and the public
• Proven experience in the traffic industry
