OverviewJoin to apply for the Field Operator Pest Plants role at Greater Wellington.We're looking for two full-time Field Operators to join our Pest Plant team in Upper Hutt.
One permanent role and one fixed-term role covering a secondment until June
You will assist the Biosecurity Officers - Pest Plants with daily fieldwork in the Hutt Valley and Kapiti area.
More information on GW's Pest Plant work can be found here.Skills and experience requiredYou will need to be self-motivated, have a good level of physical fitness and be able to work outdoors, along with : Working experience in controlling pest plants and / or relevant experience in a related biosecurity / biodiversity fieldStrong identification skills for both native and exotic plantsThe ability to handle and apply hazardous substances, and able to obtain appropriate certification as requiredA working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word (experience in GPS and GIS systems is an advantage)A strong team work ethic with experience in a small team, but also the ability and willingness to work autonomouslyA current full licence to drive a car (essential).
