We're excited by user experience / interface and are looking for an experienced Experience Designer to help design and maintain our Tumu design system, as well as create beautiful experiences that delight our customers.

Role Type : 12 Months

Role Location : Wellington or Auckland

Work Hours : 37.5 Hrs

Ka aha to ra e kite ai - What will your day look like

As a Senior Designer, your key accountabilities include :

Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to gather requirements, understand design needs, and translate them into reusable components and design guidelines.

Contribute to designing and maintaining a comprehensive design system that aligns with our ANZ design standards.

Contribute to digital projects, bringing your strong UX and UI design skills to the fore.

Craft and deliver design artefacts that are high quality, consistent, coherent and align with our digital design strategy and design systems.

Provide design support to the delivery teams with required design assets, specifications and quality checks.

Advocate design thinking by bringing customer insights and data to the decision table.

Advocate for inclusive design principles especially accessibility across design projects and initiatives.

Ou Pukenga - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following :

A developed understanding of the many facets of UX / UI design and design thinking.

Many years experience undertaking user experience and user interface design activities.

Experience in design system applications for native Mobile (iOS & Android), and responsive web.

Proficient in user interface design, visual design, prototyping, interaction design, usability testing, concept generation, analyse and synthesise insights.

Good knowledge of component-based design systems that adhere to platform conventions for native mobile and Web.

Good knowledge of designing inclusively with a strong focus on applying digital accessibility in design.

Confidence with a range of design tools including Figma, FigJam and Adobe CC or other similar tools, whilst being open and adaptive to new trends and technologies.

Good understanding of web and mobile technologies.

Proficient in project planning, communication and presentation, including an aptitude for convincing others of the value of their ideas.

Great work ethic, proactive and positive mindset.
