The Opportunity

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is the only global company to provide a full range of environmental services in the fields of water, waste management and energy solutions. With the global expertise gained from serving the environment for more than 150 years, Veolia operates in more than 40 countries around the world, with well over a hundred sites and approximately 4000 employees in Australia & New Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Lead to spearhead our business growth initiatives and drive commercial success across our existing operations. This is a hands-on role that will play a pivotal role in ensuring Veolia’s business success. The position is based in Veolia’s Ellerslie NZ Corporate Office.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Leading the successful pursuit of business growth opportunities aligned with Veolia strategic objectives. This includes hands-on commercial, financial / pricing, documentation and client negotiation activities.
  • Structuring and negotiating commercial agreements that enable successful delivery on client outcomes and business profitability.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and Veolia global specialists to achieve innovative and sustainable client focused solutions.
  • Optimising and streamlining existing business processes and commercial models to enhance efficiency and profitability.

  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of commercial contract models
  • Strong commercial acumen with proficiency in financial modelling and project management
  • Attention to detail, sound negotiation skills and strong communication skills
