In this pivotal role, you'll help shape our technology direction, mentor engineers, and deliver products that align with MATTR's mission.You'll lead a dedicated squad, taking ownership of everything from technical design to delivery.

Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, you'll develop secure, scalable, and high-performing software that evolves the MATTR platform—working closely with engineering peers in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.What you'll be doingLead a team of software engineers and QA specialists to develop and enhance MATTR's mobile capabilities.Own the full development lifecycle—from concept and design through to production deployment and post-release support.Drive agile delivery by leading sprint planning, breaking down complex work, and proactively resolving technical dependencies and delivery blockers.Foster a strong engineering culture through mentoring, honest feedback, and ongoing career development conversations.Champion squad growth by identifying, attracting, and retaining top engineering talent.Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Product, UX, QA, and SRE.Set and uphold consistent engineering standards, ensuring code is clean, reusable, and well-documented.Partner with the wider MATTR Engineering team to evolve tools, processes, and technical practices.Participate in your squad's on-call rotation, responding to production issues and collaborating with global teams across time zones as MATTR scales internationally.What you'll bringBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (advantageous).

Proven experience leading engineering teams, with at least 2 years in a people-leadership role covering hiring, coaching, and performance management.Strong hands-on expertise building production-grade mobile apps and SDKs using React Native and TypeScript.Demonstrated ability to design resilient mobile architectures that prioritise security, scalability, reliability and user experience.Track record of delivering complex technical solutions while guiding teams toward shared goals and high standards.Skilled in writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with modern engineering practices.Confident communicator who can engage technical and non-technical stakeholders including developers, designers, architects, and leadership.AdvantageousWell versed in using different technologies such as node, AWSExperience developing native mobile applications for iOS and AndroidExperience in the verifiable data and digital trust spaceWhy MATTR?
