We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative science teacher with a specialist background in chemistry to join our supportive and growing science department.

The successful applicant will be able to teach science across Y9–13, including NCEA chemistry at Levels 1 and 2 in 2026, and possibly Level 3 in 2027 as our school roll grows.

This outstanding classroom teacher will have good curriculum knowledge, strong classroom management skills and be passionate about helping students learn.

Our state-integrated school in North-West Auckland is growing into a full Y1–13 school.

We are excited to be opening a brand-new, purpose-built chemistry laboratory in early 2026.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape our senior science curriculum and work collaboratively to design courses that meet the needs of our learners.

Responsibilities

Teach science across Year 9–13, including NCEA chemistry at Levels 1 and 2 in 2026 and potentially Level 3 in 2027

Contribute to shaping and delivering a senior science curriculum and courses in collaboration with the science team

Demonstrate good curriculum knowledge and strong classroom management

Support student learning and engagement in science within a developing school environment

Qualifications

Be NZ registered teachers (or eligible for registration)

Be fully conversant with the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA

Demonstrate a commitment to supporting our school values with integrity of character

Hold NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa (overseas applicants must already have the legal documentation to reside and work in New Zealand)

The terms, conditions and base salary are set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (STCA, 2022–2025).

Actual salary will be confirmed through a salary assessment by Education Payroll once the appointment is made.
