We require an enthusiastic innovative teacher to teach science (Y9–13). Supporting subject preference Health.

The applicant will have familiarity with the New Zealand Curriculum, NCEA and the skills to use ICT to enhance learning outcomes and show adaptability of teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.

He Huarahi Tamariki is a secondary school for young people who are pregnant or parenting. Our guiding principle is the belief that all students have the potential to be successful in their aspirations once barriers are removed and the right support is in place. Since 1994 when the school opened, our motto has been “Of course you can do it.”

The unique nature of the school requires an experienced teacher with a strength in culturally responsive and relational practice, flexibility and resourcefulness. The applicant needs to be able to support individual student programmes at a variety of NCEA levels.
