Dairy Farm Assistant - Pinta Dairy

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team on Pinta Dairy.

You'll be part of a supportive team and working in a learning environment where you can grow your skill set and gain valuable experience.

We are committed to our staff, our animals, and the environment.

A Typical Day Would Include

Milking cows through our 80-bail rotary

Spraying, and general farm work

Assisting with feeding calves during calving season

You will work on a roster system of 6 days on and 2 days off.

The Fixed-Term Position

This is a fixed-term position until the end of November 2025.

No accommodation is provided; drive in / drive out position.

The Farm

Pinta Dairy Unit is Pamu's largest dairy farm, milking 2,100 dairy cows on 877ha through our 80-bail rotary dairy shed, which has been recently upgraded.

The farm also uses Halter technology.

The farm has a manager with an open, communicative style – taking care to explain the "why" around decisions so that the team has good context.

It's conveniently located just out of Taupo, with all the recreational activities the region has to offer at your doorstep; hunting, fishing, cycling and more.

About You

You'll bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn and be able to work unsupervised.

You Will Also Have

Effective communication skills and a good sense of humour

A willingness to learn and the ability to work unsupervised in a team environment

First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare

Current NZ driver's license
