In this pivotal role, you'll partner with teams across Council to understand their business performance data needs, deliver clear and actionable insights, and support the development of digital tools that empower decision-makers.
From building dashboards to leading analytical projects, your work will directly contribute to making Napier a more efficient, data-informed, and forward-thinking organisation.
The Opportunity
Work with stakeholders across Council to turn complex data into insights that support key decisions.
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards with a focus on developing modern self-service solutions for stakeholders.
Lead analytical projects that improve planning, forecasting, and operational performance.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data governance, infrastructure, and quality.
About You
Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science or related field, with proven experience as a data or business analyst, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Tangible experience in maturing organisations data capability from infrastructure through to user self-service adoption.
Confident using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel to analyse and visualise data.
Clear communicator with the ability to build great relationships and translate insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
You're curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous improvement and data integrity.

This is a permanent, full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
You will be based in Napier CBD.
The annual salary package for this role is between $91,400-$107,500 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
