Court Registry Officer - Hamilton District Court

We have an exciting opportunity to join our District Court as a Court Registry Officer in Hamilton.
As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court.
You will liaise with multiple stakeholders interacting with the Justice system, including confidently communicating with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.
Responsibilities
court taking – facilitating the running of the court, including introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors and general administration of the court
case management – ensuring the Judiciary and case parties have all necessary information and arranging logistics to hear cases in a timely and smooth manner
customer service – interacting with customers on any court-related matter via face-to-face, phone or email; confident across all communication methods
travel within the Waikato Courts may be required; a full clean New Zealand driving licence is required

detail oriented and observant – the court has many processes and case information needs to be accurate
self-aware – comfortable working both individually and as a team across a range of situations
multi-task – able to manage conflicting priorities and move quickly between tasks
willing to learn – legislation and processes in the courts constantly change and you will adapt to maintain knowledge
resilience – you may work on sensitive cases and at times high volume

Utu a-tau / Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $59,729 to $80,794, with the appointing salary based on skills and experience.
