The Role
We're looking for a Data Architect / Engineer to design, build, and maintain Engender's data infrastructure.
In this role, you'll create scalable and secure data architectures that power research, operations, and decision-making across the organisation.
Working closely with scientists, engineers, and business teams, you'll ensure Engender's data is accurate, accessible, and ready to drive insight.
What You'll Do
Design and implement scalable data models, architectures, and pipelines.
Build and maintain data warehouses, lakes, and integration tools.
Develop and optimise ETL / ELT processes for ingestion, transformation, and loading.
Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and business teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are met.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipelines and infrastructure.
Stay ahead of emerging trends and tools in data management and analytics.
Document standards, architecture, and processes for governance and knowledge sharing.
About You
You're a technical problem-solver who thrives on building robust, scalable data systems.
You enjoy working across disciplines and can translate complex technical ideas into clear solutions that deliver real-world impact.
Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.
Strong technical skills with SQL, Python, Spark, Hadoop, or similar tools.
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Knowledge of governance, data security, and compliance requirements.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and optimisation skills.
Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders on data projects.
