Ecological Restoration Team Members, Auckland – Wildland Consultants – Albany, Grey Lynn, Or Wiri

Wildlands are seeking full-time Ecological Restoration Team Members for our Auckland branch.

This role is to work in small field teams to control pest plants, with some pest animal control and planting work from time to time.

You could be based at either Albany, Grey Lynn, or Wiri, as appropriate.The role is to undertake ecological restoration work which includes pest plant control, planting and pest animal control.It is essential that you have a willingness to contribute and work in a team, are physically fit, and have a passion for working outdoors in all sorts of weather.

The work involves the use of agrichemicals (herbicides), animal toxins (poisons), and traps on a regular basis.

Regularly staying away up to week at a time in shared accommodation is an expectation of the role.Skills, Knowledge and ExperiencePrior experience working in pest plant control, planting and pest animal control is preferred but not essentialA positive attitudeA genuine interest in working in the outdoors and achieving conservation goalsGood communication and interpersonal skillsGood decision making and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamA good work ethic, efficient and H&S consciousA good level of fitnessFull NZ drivers' licence (preferred).
