Senior Software Engineer - Design

We are seeking a talented and creative Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and refining cutting-edge products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life, and ensuring our designs meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.ResponsibilitiesMaintenance and evolution of Tait's Terminals productsEmbedded firmware design, implementation and testConduct requirements analysis and modellingDevelop design specifications and implement solutionsDebugging and correcting faulty designDemonstrating up-to-date knowledge in the discipline by contributions in technical discussions, writing technical papers / studies and delivering presentations as requestedParticipation in formal review of work and test results, and where appropriate, initiation and leadership of peer reviewsMentoring of junior staffQualificationsExposure to commercial product development for 5+ yearsA keen interest in technology and solving problemsExperience developing software in a collaborative team environmentProficient with C or C++ programmingExperience in use of Python scripting language would be advantageousExperience with radio technology and transceiver design would be advantageousExperience with VHDL would be advantageousExposure to the full lifecycle of commercial product developmentGood communication skills demonstrated by written contributions and verbal presentationsBenefitsWe prioritise your wellbeing through health insurance after 12 months, annual flu vaccinations and extra sick leave in your first yearWe provide a comfortable work environment through modern office facilities with onsite parking, gym, and caféWe recognise your commitment through long service benefitsWe balance work with fun through our active social clubAbout UsFor more than 50 years, Tait Communications has been designing, delivering, and supporting critical communications networks for public safety, transportation and utility customers around the world.
