Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer | Innovative Scale up | $140,000 - $170,000

We are working closely with a high powered Startup in Christchurch who are ready to scale.

They have a lot of greenfield projects on the horizon, and are looking for a Senior Developer with a strong Startup mindset to join the team.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a software engineer (or equivalent).

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, React, and Golang.

Experience building and scaling distributed systems or SaaS platforms.

Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, and automated testing.

Proactive problem-solving skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement scalable software solutions that power the company's core platform.

Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with an emphasis on performance and reliability.

Collaborate with a small, highly skilled team where intent drives decision-making.

Take full ownership of major projects, making key decisions to accelerate both delivery and quality.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in a distributed, cloud-native environment.

Mentor junior engineers, helping them grow and develop their skills.

Up to $170,000
