In this hands-on, technically challenging role, you'll play a key part in shaping the future of our software platform for managing LMR (Land Mobile Radio) networks.Our platform is evolving to support a broader range of deployment environments, including embedded, on-premises, and cloud-based systems.
We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer to help lead this transformation, improving flexibility, scalability, and resilience across a variety of infrastructures.We're seeking a self-driven engineer with a strong background in systems and deployment engineering who can operate across the stack from shell scripts to container orchestration and embedded platforms.The Duties of the Role Will IncludeDeveloping and supporting our containerized software platformDesigning deployment architectures across embedded, on-premises, and cloud-based systemsDriving performance, scalability, and resilience through effective containerization using DockerImplementing cybersecurity best practices to secure systems against threats by collaborating with other developers & Systems Engineers.Automating builds, testing, and deployments using modern DevOps tools and practices.
O pukenga – About YouYou'll bring a proactive, solution-focused mindset and have the confidence to operate across the full engineering stack.You will have : A relevant tertiary qualification and / or equivalent experienceSolid Linux system engineering backgroundStrong shell scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, etc.)Proven hands-on experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and container image creationFamiliarity with virtual networking and networking concepts in containerized environmentsExperience with automation and deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, CI / CD)Programming proficiency in C / C++ and / or GoKnowledge of cybersecurity principles, system hardening, and auditingThe ability to contribute to solution architecture and high-level system designIt would be advantageous to have : Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration at scaleExposure to LMR or communications networksFamiliarity with cross-platform builds and multi-architecture support (x86, ARM)Nga painga – What's in it for you?
