Senior Medical Officer - Maternal Mental Health

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Maternal Mental Health – Perinatal Team working in the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland.

• Remunerations via ASMS MECA Step 1-15 - $185,380 - $267,980 NZD

The Maternal Mental Health team is our multi-disciplinary specialist team providing assessment and treatment to pregnant women and those with an infant up to 12months old.

his role is primarily focused on assessment and treatment to pregnant women though does have interface with our Whakatupu Ora Infant Mental Health team, our multi-disciplinary specialist service team providing assessment and therapy for children (0 to 4 years) and their caregivers to improve mental health outcomes for children.

There is shared Multidisciplinary team meeting, allowing for consultation and joint work from both perspectives.

We are based at Springs Road site in East Tamaki.

The teams provide clinic and community-based services for whaanau in the CM Health area.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be engaged in core clinical activities such as treatment planning and the development of recovery-oriented interventions that are culturally relevant to our service users and their whaanau.

You will have a focus on early intervention, experience in working with whanau and excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with a wide range of services and professionals on intervention plans.
