Pest Plant Operator

Green by Nature is proud to be one of Auckland Council's chosen service providers, entrusted with maintaining the beauty of the region's parks, playgrounds, and public spaces. We are now looking for two reliable individuals to join our newest team of Pest Plant Operators!

What does a Pest Plant Operator do, you ask?

In a nutshell, your role will see you take on vegetation and pest plant management activities within the regions many parks and reserves. Day-to-day your role will see you carry out chemical spraying and application of herbicides, manual removal of weeds, operating spray equipment / machinery and helping other teams as required. This opportunity is fixed term for 8 months to support with high growth seasons of Spring and Summer.

Who we are looking for

Ideally, we would love someone who has pest plant management experience; however, this is not a must. As long as you are a hard worker, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in then you would be a perfect candidate. Other success factors include :

• A clean and current drivers' licence with the ability to drive a manual
• A current GrowSafe Certificate
• Be a team player with a positive attitude - helping out your team mates needs to be second nature
• A desire to adhere to the company's health and safety procedures
• Tones of motivation with a strong desire to get this job done
• Physically fit - the role does involve a lot of walking / heavy lifting
