OverviewVeolia Australia & New Zealand is the only global company to provide a full range of environmental services in the fields of water, waste management and energy solutions.We currently have a fixed term vacancy (ending 31st March 2026) for an experienced Wastewater Treatment Operator based in Whitianga to carry out operational and routine maintenance tasks, and mechanical repairs within the Thames / Coromandel contract.Ideally, we are looking for someone who will be able to hit the ground running.What you'll be responsible forMaintenance and repair of pipes, pumps, leaks, machines, blockages and pump stationsPreventative maintenance including refits and rebuilding of assetsLaboratory testing and data entryPerformance monitoring and improvements of treatment processMonitoring, recording and altering Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systemAct as a point of contact for customer requests for serviceCoordinate and provide contractual reporting to the ClientAccurately log all reports and jobs, completing the necessary paperwork and filing where requiredWhat you'll need to be successfulClass 1 Driver Licence essential although Class 2 Licence will be an advantageTertiary education in Science; Engineering (Mechanical) or computing an advantageA strong process or mechanical backgroundWater industry experienceA can-do attitudeAbility to work under pressureGood attention to detailAbility to participate in an on-call rosterGreat communication and organisational skillsIntermediate computer skillsA Veolia CareerVeolia operates in more than 40 countries around the world, with well over a hundred sites and approximately 6000 employees in Australia & New Zealand.
