Through integration and collaboration, we are building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleHere at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join us in medical respiratory as part of our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster in Christchurch Hospital.In this role you will be delivering services to the medical respiratory specialty and supporting the wider team.
Your caseload will include a combination of inpatients on the medical respiratory ward and outpatients as part of our Physiotherapy Respiratory Outpatient services.As part of our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster, this team works with patients across clinical specialties including General Surgery, Cardiology / Cardiothoracics, Intensive Care and Urology.You will be actively involved in the education and training of 4th year undergraduate students and our rotational staff.
You will need to be enthusiastic and confident in your clinical practice and have a collaborative communication style.You will be required to contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters.ResponsibilitiesUndertaking assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other servicesSupervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy studentsSupporting quality improvement activitiesAbout YouWe are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist passionate about working in the public health system who demonstrates the following skills / experience to join us in this permanent full-time opportunity.Experience in the medical respiratory setting - inpatients and / or outpatientsThe ability to work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary teamEnthusiasm and confidence in sharing your knowledge across your disciplineCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthRegistration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practising Certificate is essentialWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellnesses'.
