The opportunity :
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Managed Programs, the Investment Performance Analyst, Managed Programs is responsible for supporting investment performance measurement, monitoring and reporting activities delivered through Envestnet and within Wellington-Altus Private Wealth (WAPW) Managed Programs.
The Investment Performance Analyst, Managed Programs will ensure that performance returns, benchmark returns, and performance attribution are calculated correctly and ensure that analytical reviews, reasonability checks and established processes are completed and followed in accordance with WAPW Investments Policies, Guidelines, and Procedures.
This role will provide subject matter expertise on reporting standards and industry best practices for the delivery of client investment performance reporting and is expected to drive forward continuous improvement in the delivery of investment performance information at WAPW.
The role will also assist in delivering actionable, performance-based insights for communicating to and assisting WAPW advisors and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include :
Analyzing the performance of WAPW portfolios, models and investment programs, ensuring compliance with performance measurement standards.
Reviewing, validating and reconciling performance measurement data to identify and resolve issues that may arise.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date investment performance data in compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Working with Envestnet and NBIN to gather, clean, and maintain performance-related data.
Investigating and resolving data discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure accurate reporting.
Assisting in selecting appropriate benchmarks for investment portfolios and assess performance relative to these benchmarks.
Contributing to the development of new performance measurement methodologies and reports.
Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) for various investment strategies.
Automating, optimizing and re-engineering of performance reporting processes and tools to increase efficiency and improve reporting ecosystem.
Working alongside other members of the Managed Programs team to help respond to advisor performance related queries.
Building relationships and partnering with internal stakeholders to support the Managed Accounts platform.
Assisting in the training, development, and mentoring of colleagues.
Ad-hoc projects & duties as assigned.
The Ideal candidate will possess :
Bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics or a related field of study.
CFA or CIM candidate considered an asset.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in investment performance analysis or a similar role within asset management.
Policy and practice management experience in a private client / retail advice setting would be considered a significant asset.
Strong familiarity with performance measurement systems (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg PORT, Morningstar Direct, or similar tools).
Knowledge of GIPS standards and other relevant performance reporting frameworks.
Programming / scripting experience is an asset.
Sound analytical and decision-making skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Proven ability to create and present performance reports, with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible when needed.
Conditions of employment :
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Must be able to travel 5% of the time.
