About the Role

AAA Auto Repair Ltd / Northland Parts Warehouse is looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team in Whangarei.

The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a range of vehicles — from light cars to heavy-duty engines — as well as dismantling and recycling parts from accident-damaged or used vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles

Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and safety checks

Dismantle vehicles and extract usable parts for recycling or resale

Overhaul, adjust, and replace engines, transmissions, and other major components

Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure proper operation

Maintain accurate service and repair records

Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Work collaboratively with the workshop team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers

Skills and Experience

Minimum 2–3 years' proven experience as an automotive mechanic

Strong knowledge of light and heavy vehicle engines, transmissions, and mechanical systems

Experience dismantling, extracting, and recycling vehicle parts

Excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude

Able to work independently and diagnose faults accurately

Punctual, reliable, and willing to work weekends

Physically fit and safety-conscious
