He angitutanga / The opportunity : We are seeking a Chef to join our team at one of the prestigious Air New Zealand Lounges in Auckland International Airport.
In this role, you'll prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes that meet the expectations of discerning travellers.
You'll work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain food safety standards and deliver exceptional service.
This is a Casual Position where hours of work are "as and when" required basis upon business needs.
Therefore, successful candidate MUST be available to work during weekends.
Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities : Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes including meat, seafood, vegetables, and baked goods.
Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Receive, store, and rotate supplies while assisting with stock control and ordering.
Apply catering control principles to minimise waste and maintain portion control.
Collaborate with colleagues and support on-the-job coaching when required.
He korero mou / About you : Holds NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent, with experience in a similar role.
Strong communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude.
Physically fit, reliable, and committed to food safety and hygiene standards.
Able to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and teamwork.
