About us
We're a small but growing team with 8 staff currently and we're expanding into 4–5 new regions.
We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, great customer relationships and doing it the right way.
Role Overview
Site Lead / Building Manager – responsible for running one region with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
Responsibilities
Oversee the entire job cycle in your region : from quoting through to completion.
Submit job-quote information to head office (gather site info, meet clients, then pass info for quote).
Take ownership of the project once a job is accepted – set up site, manage crews, schedule, quality, finish and client communications.
Materials will be delivered to sites.
Lead and mentor crew (labourers / assistants) for each job.
Maintain a high level of finish; we do things properly, no shortcuts.
Ensure good client relationships – main point of contact on site.
Organise yourself and your region; you'll be solo in many respects.
Strong organisational skills are essential.
Optional / desired : help train younger staff entering the business.
What we're looking for
Experience in fencing and decks (installation, structural understanding, finish work).
A current licensed building practitioner (LBP) certificate is not required, but you must know what you're doing and be confident running the job end-to-end.
Excellent communication skills – able to liaise with clients, suppliers, head office and your crew.
Positive "can-do" attitude; we'll support you, but you must be able to drive things yourself.
Fit and healthy, physically capable of being on site and supervising.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Valid New Zealand driver's licence (a company vehicle may be available).
Proven ability to deliver a high finish and take pride in your work.
Willingness to work outdoors, and in variable weather and conditions.
What we offer
Company vehicle + tools provided.
Autonomy : you'll essentially run your region.
Be part of a growing business where you can make your mark, influence processes and grow with us.
Supportive team environment (family-owned, small team).
Opportunity for further leadership / training responsibilities.
Competitive remuneration (based on experience) and / or contractor arrangement.
