The Role :
We are seeking a dedicated Storeperson responsible for managing warehouse and logistical operations.
This role ensures that inventory and equipment are efficiently received, checked, stored, and dispatched in a professional and safe manner.
This position reports to the Senior Storeperson, with an indirect dotted line to the Procurement & Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage the receipt, checking, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Promptly handle inwards goods, prevent damage during storage, and resolve stock discrepancies.
Participate in stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records.
Suggest improvements to warehouse procedures.
Follow all safety protocols while reporting any hazards and support the company's environmental policies.
Adhere to ECL Group's procedures and contribute to business improvements.
Perform other duties as needed.
Key relationships :
You will interact with Service Technicians, Managers, Procurement, the Sales Administrator, and the Senior Storeperson.
Externally, you will liaise with freight and courier companies, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
Skills and Attributes :
You should be able to organise goods efficiently in small spaces, ensuring the storeroom is always prepared for new deliveries.
A solid understanding of warehousing protocols, like FIFO, and adaptability to new systems are key.
Strong written and verbal communication, along with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, are essential.
Collaboration, a commitment to quality service, and meeting customer needs are vital.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, paired with a proactive, positive attitude, are crucial.
You must be dependable, accountable, and able to handle conflict with maturity and respect.
A positive outlook, eagerness to learn, and willingness to share ideas and contribute to team success are also important.
Experience in coaching or mentoring others is an advantage.
Qualifications and Experience :
Will ideally have 5 years of practical warehousing or distribution experience, although training can be provided for the right person.
A current forklift license is required.
Should have sound computer skills, including familiarity with stock management systems and Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as experience with online courier and transport systems.
Awareness of health, safety, and environmental best practices is also desirable.
