As our new Dairy Assistant Production Manager, you'll work alongside the Farm Manager and 2IC who back your development, with training, mentorship, and the opportunity to make an impact every day.
You\'ll be hands-on across a wide range of operations, including :
Responsibilities
Supporting feed planning and pasture management to hit production targets
Leading milking operations and maintaining high hygiene and milk quality standards
Monitoring animal health and helping to rear the next generation of stock
Managing effluent systems and ensuring environmental compliance
Coaching junior team members and helping run day-to-day farm activities
Filling in for the Production Manager when required
The Farm
The Farm Bounty Dairy Unit is a 629-ha property, that winters 1,700 cows and milks 1,650 through a 60-bail rotary at peak.
We have recently implemented Halter technology on farm.
Located just ten minutes from Taupo, you get the best of both worlds, with town close by and lifestyle opportunities are at your doorstep, including water sports, mountain biking, hunting and fishing.
There are also plenty of local schooling options in the area.

About You
About You You're someone who takes pride in doing things well — whether it's getting the best out of your pasture, keeping cows healthy, or stepping up to support your team.
You might have experience in a similar Assistant Production Manager role, or you are an experienced Dairy Farm Assistant looking to take the next step in your career, either way we want to hear from you.
You'll Bring
Experience in a similar role, or managing and coordinating people (bonus points for ITO Level 2)
Skills in pasture management, feed planning, and general farm operations
Confidence riding two-wheel motorbikes
Eager to learn and use farm tech
A proactive attitude towards health, safety, and teamwork
Great communication skills and the ability to get stuck in unsupervised
A restricted or full driver\'s licence
