What you'll do

This role will have a profound impact in shaping the future of energy.

You'll lead Genesis' strategic energy analytics capability, owning centralised market models, delivering authoritative market insights, and enabling decisions that shape both commercial performance and our energy transition.

Some of the key responsibilities are :

Lead the development and governance of energy market, hydrology and demand forecasting models

Provide expert insight on NZ and global energy markets to guide key investment decisions

Drive analytics innovation including machine learning, AI and modern modelling approaches

Partner with business units to co-develop models and deliver high-impact strategic insights

Mentor analysts, uplift capability, and embed analytical excellence across the team

What you'll bring

You'll bring passion alongside deep energy market expertise, advanced analytics capability, and the leadership to drive insight, governance, and innovation at enterprise scale.

Extensive experience in the energy sector, ideally electricity, gas or renewables

Expertise in advanced analytics, forecasting, modelling and quantitative methods

Proven leadership developing analytical frameworks and strategic insight

Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clarity

Ability to mentor, uplift capability and foster analytical excellence across teams

Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Power BI or similar analytical tools
