Senior Associate – Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C)

In this Senior Associate, EI&C Engineer role, you will be strengthening and partnering with Beca’s on site team to manage Beca’s project delivery service offering with the New Zealand Steel, Glenbrook based team. You will have plenty of scope to work with the Manager to grow and develop the Beca specialist teams. Together, you will be part of a close-knit team delivering capital projects, from scoping through to design, procurement, install / construction and commissioning. By working on site, you will see daily the impact from these projects, in how they add value to the operation of one of NZ’s largest and most complex industrial sites.
In this role you will be a part of the New Zealand Steel Engineering Services team as well as having the depth of expertise and experience behind you from the Beca Industrial business. You will work on a variety of projects in the various plants around the site. The projects will vary in budget and complexity. You will be applying your EI&C expertise and experience across High Voltage (HV) requirements (experience in this area is essential), as well as working across low voltage power system design, distributing power, hazardous areas, automation (PLC and SCADA), instrumentation and machinery safety (having experience and exposure to one or more of these areas will be advantageous). Being based on site at NZ Steel in Glenbrook, South Auckland means you will be applying your relationship building abilities, industry and project experience, working with site teams with deep knowledge and expertise on the operations across the site. You will be able to apply your abilities in connecting with, listening and understanding, collaborating and delivering projects in a way that adds value to the onsite teams, and in a way that works for them.

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive industry, technical and project experience, with the ability to lead and develop others as well as running your own projects. Together with Beca’s on-site team, you will be leading the detailed design process, as well as being able to understand how designs and solutions impact within the specific site requirements. Experience working on-site, building relationships with operations teams will be an advantage.
