The Role

At Enliven, we create elder-centred communities where older people have companionship, meaningful activity, purpose, and fun in their lives.

As a Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Support Otago, you will lead a shift of Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare to residents in a way that promotes independence and quality of life.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate an integrated plan of health care as well as perform general nursing functions.

You will need sound nursing knowledge including an awareness of legislation.

You will have the ability to make clinical decisions that are in the best interests of the residents' well-being and safety.

Your relationships with residents and families will be built on trust, respect, and value for the contribution they make to the home.

Hours

This is a casual position.

We are looking for someone who can work on a when and if required basis.

About You

The ideal applicant will have :

Sound clinical knowledge and skill

Time management skills and the ability to manage complex and competing priorities

Empathy, compassion, and patience

The ability to work well within a team

Excellent organisation and attention to detail

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including relationship and advocacy skills

A current New Zealand annual practising certificate

Reasonable fitness and strength

Experience in care of older people is preferred, but not essential
