We are looking for experienced teachers, passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with developmental delays or disabilities and familiar with working holistically in a transdisciplinary role.
McKenzie Centre, located in Hamilton, is a leading early intervention centre that supports children with developmental delays (birth to school age) and their whanau.
We provide family-centred, play-based, trans-disciplinary services that help children reach their potential.
Our team includes speech-language therapists, physio and occupational therapists, early intervention teachers, peer support workers, psychologists, and education support workers.
We are seeking qualified early intervention teachers, or registered primary or early childhood education teachers working towards their Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching, who are preferably experienced in early intervention and family-centred practice.
As a member of our trans-disciplinary team, you will provide holistic support in areas such as child development, family advocacy, and community engagement.
You will be involved in both individual and group interventions, working in the centre and community settings, utilising performance coaching and supportive strategies to enhance children's learning outcomes.
Skills and experience :
Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching (Early Intervention) or one of the other specialist teaching endorsements.
Bachelor of Education / Teaching
A fully registered teacher
At least two years' experience in an education role with individuals with developmental delays (preferred)
Experience in early intervention is highly desirable
Strong understanding of family partnership and support
A current full driver's licence
