We’re looking for a Safety, Health and Wellbeing Advisor to join our wider Safety, Health & Wellbeing team here in Aotearoa, reporting to our Safety, Health and Wellbeing Manager - Assurance, Systems & Programs. Our team is the engine room - the centre of excellence when it comes to championing a rigorous and contemporary Safety, Health and Wellbeing agenda - supporting and caring for our communities and our team.
Joining our Safety, Health & Wellbeing team, you’ll take support in developing a culture of safety, health and wellbeing excellence and driving the business to achieve continuous improvement. Contribute as a Subject Management Expert (SME) for our Safety Management System to ensure it is fit for purpose in its current state as we transform to our new ways of working which include a smart technology system to support our safety, health & wellbeing engagement across the organisation. This role will provide a safety new-comer with vast and visible safety experience, supporting your peers in role coverage and role support across many facets of safety in Woolworths New Zealand. Enjoy travel to our operational sites across the country, supporting health checks and growing your skills as a safety advisor.

This role is a supporter, influencer and subject matter expert, providing encouragement, support, guidance and timely advice to the wider SHW Team and providing assurance back to WWNZ.
Support appropriate assurance activity, both in-field & action verification as required.
Support the operational function by delivering and implementing safety, health and wellbeing policies and procedures.
Support Safety, Health and Wellbeing Management to capture key knowledge - methods, requirements, processes - record it, maintain the content, keep it current, accessible and usable, and protect the knowledge by retaining and consistently applying it in the business.
Ownership of Safety, Health and Wellbeing Documentation and Systems in all areas of Woolworths New Zealand (WWNZ).
Ensure any WWNZ procedures and supporting documentation is created, consulted and communicated to relevant stakeholders across our business units. This will encompass procedures for Primary Connect (Supply Chain), Supermarkets, eCommerce and support where necessary.
Support the review of the ACC AEP Self Assessment and / or ISO 45001 Certification / Recertification
What you’ll bring | Hei koha
Ideally to succeed in this role you will need to be a Health, Safety and Risk professional, ideally 1-2 years experience within a large scale / complex environment. You will hold or be working towards a formal H&S qualification. You’ll be a strong communicator, able to engage and influence key stakeholders, build trust and confidence and bring people along our SH&W journey. With sound systems knowledge, you’ll have curiosity combined with comfort operating in the gray in a large corporate environment. There will be travel required in the role. You’ll be able to encourage authentic conversations and challenge the status quo where necessary for the greater good!
