About the Role
We are looking for an experienced NZ Registered Physiotherapist as our Practice Supervisor for our Physiotherapy Medical Team.
This role is based at Auckland City Hospital and is a fixed term, full-time role.
Our Physiotherapy Medical team covers Respiratory, Cardiothoracics, Cardiology, General Medicine, Emergency Department, Oncology and Haematology.
This key role reports directly to the Physiotherapy Clinical Lead and is an ideal opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist wanting to develop their leadership capabilities.
Key roles and responsibilities :
Provide comprehensive assessment and outcome focussed innovative care, applying evidence based practice, interventions and educationCoordinate day-to-day activities and workload across the medical teamProvides clinical leadership and oversight of a team of Physiotherapists.Leads and implements quality and service improvementsMotivating, guiding and developing staffCollaboration with wider Physiotherapy, Allied Health and wider hospital teams in a leadership capacity.About the Team
Our team is made up of passionate and supportive Physiotherapists motivated to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the communities we serve.
Our Acute Medical Team is led by a Practice Supervisor and consists of 14 staff working across AED, General Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiothoracics, Haematology and Oncology.
Our wider Physiotherapy team consists of 91.2FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes :
New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing CertificateSignificant experience working in the acute hospital setting with a minimum of 7 years clinical experienceClinical expertise within acute medical servicesExperience working in a complex environment and within multi-disciplinary or inter-disciplinary teamsLeadership and management training with proven supervision, mentoring, coaching and leadership skillsExperience providing adult teaching and knowledge of appropriate educating skillsOrganisational, time management and clinical priority-setting skillsA commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for MaoriKnowledge of quality improvement principles and processesRegardless of your experience, you will receive a thorough orientation and be well-supported in your role.
