The Opportunity
As a Strategic Finance Analyst, you'll be a key player in transforming complex data and commercial challenges into clear, actionable strategies.
Leveraging our in-house, world-class analytics capabilities, you'll provide sharp financial analysis, craft strategic recommendations, and deliver insights that drive real business outcomes.
Your role will involve :
Financial modelling and scenario analysis
Developing business insights and commercial recommendations
Light data modelling and visualisation, in collaboration with the Data Team
You'll gain exposure across a multitude industries, both in New Zealand and internationally, influencing decisions in boardrooms, negotiations, and operational settings.
Key Responsibilities
Translate complex data and commercial challenges into actionable business insights
Build and maintain financial models, commercial analysis, and scenario plans
Provide support to development and delivery of compelling strategic recommendations
Support the Strategy Lead to understand client business challenges and objectives
Collaborate with the Insight Analyst and Data Team to integrate data-driven strategic insights and visualisations
Optional Contribute to project scoping, planning, and tracking across internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Technical & Commercial Skills
Strong structured thinking — able to turn messy inputs into clear insights
Solid business acumen — understands commercial levers and cross-functional dynamics
Financial fluency — comfortable interpreting P&Ls, forecasts, and building financial models
Good organisational skills to support project management tasks
Ability to support client engagement, working behind the scenes to equip the Strategy Lead with high-quality analysis, insights, and materials
Soft Skills
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management
Team player with a passion for learning and growth
Great presentation skills are a bonus, but not essential
Qualifications
Degree in Data Science, Engineering, or Finance / Accounting preferred
Progress towards CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is advantageous, but not required
Real-world experience and demonstrated capability are valued above formal credentials
Experience
Typically 3-6 years in a similar role, but we prioritise attitude, capability, and potential over years on paper
Experience in corporates, consultancies, or start-ups — all backgrounds considered
