Horticulture Leading Hand, Opearation Manager & Plant Machinery Operators

Job descriptionLead small teams in orchard tasks Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress Train new workers on horticultural techniques and safety protocols Ensure work is completed to quality and productivity standards Maintain tools and ensure safe usage Monitor worker attendance and performance Report operational issues to supervisors or managers Support health and safety compliance across orchard sites Assist with seasonal planning and resource coordination Minimum 2 years of experience or Level 4 or higher qualification. Oversee daily operations across multiple orchard sites Develop and implement seasonal work plans and schedules Supervise team leaders and field staff Monitor orchard performance and ensure quality standards Manage budgets, procurement, and resource allocation Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers Prepare operational reports for company directors Coordinate training and development for staff Minimum 3 years of experience or Level 4 qualification AND Valid driver’s license (Class 1) New Zealand or International Operate tractors, sprayers, mulchers, and mowers in orchard blocks Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance Apply sprays and treatments as per orchard schedule Transport bins and equipment across orchard sites Follow GPS and mapping systems for precision tasks Maintain spray logs and machinery usage records Report faults or hazards to management Assist with irrigation and mowing tasks Ensure safe operation in all weather and terrain conditions.

Hours : 30 – 40 hours per week
