Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Health care assistant has arisen to join our team on a permanent, fulltime or part-time basis. You’ll be working on rostered and rotating shifts, within a dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team. The Health Care Assistant (HCA) is part of the unregulated health workforce and therefore must always work under direction and / or delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN). The HCA role is task-specific and has defined boundaries.

The HCA is part of a collaborative health care team; they assist the RN to meet the patient / client needs when it is appropriate for the RN to delegate aspects of care to a trained unregulated healthcare role. The HCA contributes to the successful operation of the nursing team.

Kenepuru Surgical Unit is a 17 - 21 bed General, Gynaecological, Orthopaedic Surgical, Ortho-Geriatric rehabilitation ward. Ward 7 has a strong focus on teamwork and a commitment to excellent standards of nursing care. We are looking for a flexible and dynamic experienced Health care assistant to join our team.

Ward 7 also provides care for patients that are Non weight bearing. The MDT plays an important role in the treatment and discharge planning for patients
