Project Manager, Abuse in Care Facilities - Mental Health & Addiction Services

About the Role
You will be responsible for the successful design and delivery of key Mental Health & Addiction (MH&A) Budget 25 initiatives involving the Hospital and Specialist Services MH&A system.
The MH&A Budget 25 team in the Specialist MH&A directorate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting the implementation of several high-priority projects under the wider B25 MH&A initiatives. The Specialist MH&A Directorate is a national function that operationally supports the Hospital and Specialist MH&A system and leads national pieces of work required to deliver on Health NZ's MH&A strategic, policy, and Government objectives.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide Mental Health facility planning expertise for and project management support for the Abuse In Care Budget 25 Initiative. The Abuse in Care Budget 25 facilities initiative involves an in-depth assessment of mental health inpatient units' privacy, dignity and safety features across the country, followed by scope determination and implementation and delivery of the improvement and / or installation of the necessary features in mental health units across the country (based on prioritisation of needs).
The role involves managing the process for the in-depth assessment, clinical engagement in the design process and overseeing the national delivery of the project following the assessment. The Project Manager ensures the achievement of project objectives and milestones, managing risk and quality control throughout the project's life cycle, to ensure a smooth transition to business as usual, enabling the realisation of benefits.
About you
You're experienced in leading and implementing change within complex environments, bringing a strong process management approach that ensures consistency, quality, and efficiency. With relevant tertiary or health and / or management qualifications, you combine technical expertise with practical leadership. You're highly proficient across the MS Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, and confident managing projects across a variety of types and scales.
Your excellent communication and presentation skills enable you to build strong, transparent relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You're adept at managing internal relationships across areas such as engineering, facilities, procurement, finance, and other key stakeholders, as well as working collaboratively with external suppliers and contractors. With your ability to engage effectively with diverse groups and services, you're seen as a trusted and capable partner who gets things done.
