Job description

Awanui Labs - Queenstown seeks a casual Trainee for Patient Services to assist with specimen collection and support diagnostic pathology operations.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing :

Collect blood samples and handle contained specimens including human blood, faeces, urine, tissue from patients in the community and hospital settings
Support processing and testing of samples in a state-of-the-art medical laboratory
Work within the Patient Services team adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills

About You

The company is looking for :

Ability to work methodically following strict quality procedures

Customer focus and commitment to high-quality service

Sound knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory operations, including safety and equipment use, is desirable but not essential

Diploma in Applied Science or Bachelor of Science is an advantage but not essential

At least a Restricted or Full NZ class 1 driver’s license

Eligibility to work in New Zealand
