Wholesale Sales Representative – Switch Lighting
Switch Lighting is on the hunt for a passionate Wholesale Sales Representative to join our award‑winning team of lighting professionals. You’ll represent one of New Zealand’s most trusted brands, working across the Lower North and Upper South Island (ideally based in Wellington).
This role is all about building strong relationships with wholesalers and electricians, driving sales growth , and spotting new opportunities. You’ll be supported by a dynamic team that values innovation, teamwork, and integrity.
Territory : Lower North & Upper South Island (Preferably based in Wellington)

Purpose of the Role
As a Wholesale Sales Representative , you’ll drive business growth and strengthen relationships with electrical wholesalers and electricians throughout the territory. You’ll manage the full sales process—from lead generation to closing—while identifying and passing on quality leads to the Business Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales process and call cycle.
- Consistently present new and existing products to the market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers and electricians.
- Provide leads and opportunities for the BDM to follow up.
- Grow existing accounts, promote new product opportunities, and secure orders.
- Ensure in‑store presence with effective merchandising and marketing displays.
- Deliver engaging product presentations and training sessions.
- Attend trade shows and industry events to promote the Switch Lighting range.
- Resolve customer issues and ensure ongoing satisfaction.
Reporting & Administration
Record all sales activities and customer visits in the CRM system.Track opportunities and interactions accurately in CRM.Provide insights on market trends and competitor activity.Assist with sales forecasting and monthly reporting.Prepare quotes and tailored proposals for customers.Key Experience & Knowledge
Proven experience in a sales rep or account management role (lighting, electrical, or technical industry preferred but not essential).Strong communication and negotiation skills.Confident presenting information clearly and persuasively.Excellent organiser and time‑management skills.Willingness to travel throughout the territory and occasionally nationwide.Ideally based in the Wellington region for central access to the Lower North & Upper South Island.Personal Attributes

Full‑time, 40 hours per week.Some overnight travel may be required to meet business needs.Travel expenses covered in accordance with Switch Lighting’s Expenditure Policy.Maintain CRM with accurate, timely data and drive quote‑to‑sale conversion through consistent follow‑ups.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
