Mercor seeks a Physics Expert - Problem Curator to contribute scientific expertise for AI research. The base pay range is $40.00 / hr - $60.00 / hr. Actual pay is based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
- Create and review challenging, discipline-specific problems in physics, chemistry, or astronomy.
- Design detailed solutions and LaTeX-formatted content for AI training purposes.
- Provide feedback to refine problem structures.
- Collaborate asynchronously with the research team on problem quality and relevance.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
Current undergraduate or master’s student in physics, chemistry, astronomy, or a closely related field at a top US, UK, Australian, NZ, or Canadian university.OR 1+ year of full-time experience in a physics, chemistry, or astronomy-related field.Advanced proficiency in LaTeX for scientific problem formatting.Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Preferred Qualifications
Previous participation in a science olympiad.Engagement Details
Remote and asynchronous — set your own schedule.Expected contribution : 15–20 hours per week, with potential to scale to 40+ hours.Project start : October; rolling applications accepted throughout.Initial commitment : 1 month, with potential for extension.Compensation : Competitive rates for domain experts, paid weekly via Stripe Connect.Classified as an independent contractor.Application Process
