Overview
An exciting opportunity in the role of Executive Director of Public Libraries New Zealand (PLNZ).
The Executive Director reports to the Chair and PLNZ Executive Committee, and supports a diverse range of activities undertaken by PLNZ including advocacy for public libraries and their leaders, national public library data collection, engagement with over 440 PLNZ members and professional development activities, including an annual two-day National Forum event.
PLNZ is the lead sector association for public libraries in New Zealand.
The role is 0.6FTE (24 hours a week) and home based with some travel for meetings and events.
The role requires a well developed knowledge and experience of the New Zealand public library sector, excellent managerial, financial and communication skills with a strategic vision, and a knowledge of the New Zealand non-for-profit sector.
Responsibilities
Support PLNZ activities including advocacy for public libraries and their leaders.
Oversee national public library data collection.
Engage with PLNZ members (over 440).
Coordinate or contribute to professional development activities, including the annual two-day National Forum event.
Qualifications
Well-developed knowledge and experience of the New Zealand public library sector.
Excellent managerial, financial and communication skills with a strategic vision.
Knowledge of the New Zealand non-for-profit sector.
