Teacher Of The Deaf - Ormiston Primary

Overview

We are in search of an experienced New Zealand registered classroom teacher who has up to date knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum and assessment tools.

This is a permanent teaching role and has the possibility to be part time or full time.

The role will be based in our Ormiston Primary Provision.

In This Role

Our class sizes are small, ranging from 2–10 students per class group.

You will have a strong commitment to learning NZSL with our full support of lessons, day to day support and resources.

You will work in a teaching team, which includes Teachers and Teacher Aides of the Deaf, with access to other specialists as required including Educational Interpreters.

Your strong knowledge of the NZ curriculum means you will have the ability to raise achievement of our akonga.

Be eligible for a MoE Study Award for a Post Graduate Teacher of the Deaf qualification.

5 days CRT release time per term as per PTCA plus significant additional release during an induction phase.

Requirements / Qualifications

New Zealand registered classroom teacher with up to date knowledge of the NZ curriculum and assessment tools.

Willingness to learn NZSL; supported with lessons, day-to-day support and resources.

Ability to work in a teaching team and with Deaf education specialists.

Strong knowledge of the NZ curriculum to raise achievement of akonga.

Eligible for a MoE Study Award for a Post Graduate Teacher of the Deaf qualification (where applicable).
