We are needing a Fire Protection Design Engineer to join our team!
We are offering flexibility for this position to be located in Auckland , Christchurch , or in any of our branch offices across New Zealand.

What you will do
The Fire Protection Design Engineer will be part of the Engineering Team to support the installation and service operations by creating detailed 2D and 3D fire protection drawings and models for various projects. This role involves creating fire protection designs based on company and industry standards.
How you will do it
Utilize CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM Modelling) to create and detail Fire Protection design drawings
Develop detailed 2D schematic and P&ID
Collaborate with Project Managers and other team members to resolve design issues and optimize outcomes
Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, in compliance with the relevant Standard or specification, and maintain proper documentation and revision control
Assist in the preparation of bills of materials and other engineering documentation such as the preparation of Operation and Maintenance manuals as required
Undertake the submission of design parameters and completion documentation to the third-party inspection agency / Authority Having Jurisdiction
Support the sales team in preparing overview drawings or technical support when needed (e.g. site layouts, concept models and general arrangements) during quotation and tender processes
What we look for
Experienced with New Zealand based fire protection Standards such as NZS4541, NZS4510 and other standards utilised by the New Zealand fire protection industry
Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, or similar)
Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings associated with the building industry
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Exceptional time management and attention to detail
Ability to work within a team environment
Drive to succeed
Keep up to date with the technical aspects of the position and be willing to undertake training
