Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley DistrictLocation : Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital & Hutt HospitalService : Radiology ServicesContract : Permanent - full time / part timeSalary : As per ASMS SECAKorero mo te turanga - About the roleWe are seeking full-time or part-time consultant radiologists to join our dynamic team at Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, and Hutt Hospital.

We are looking for Cardio-thoracic Imaging and / or Musculoskeletal Imaging specialities, however, applicants with a range of expertise are encouraged to apply!Key ResponsibilitiesReporting and supervising imaging lists (e.g.

CT, MRI, Ultrasound)Fluoroscopy procedures as appropriate to the specialityPreparing and taking clinical meetings / MDMs and liaising with clinicians where requiredAs a RANZCR training centre we have teaching commitments to radiology trainees in years 1-5.Participation in diagnostic radiology on-call rosterCardio-thoracic ImagingThe department covers secondary and tertiary Cardiology, Respiratory and Cardio-Thoracic surgical services for the local and Central Regional patients.

There is a close working relationship with Cardiology in delivering Cardiac and Aortic imaging.There is a close working relationship with Respiratory and Cardio-thoracic surgery and the meeting schedule currently includes a weekly diagnostic and full lung cancer MDM, and weekly respiratory radiology meetings.

There is a monthly regional ILD meeting.There are interventional radiologists but there are interventional opportunities for diagnostic radiologists to perform lung biopsy and pleural procedures.Musculoskeletal ImagingThe department provides an opportunity to pursue interesting subspecialist musculoskeletal work.

MRI cases reflect the workload of a busy tertiary centre, including but not limited to : severe trauma and multi-ligament injuries; tumour cases; arthritis imaging; osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.Interventional opportunities include : regular ultrasound and / or fluoroscopically guided therapeutic injections, spine injection lists, tumour biopsy (with good support from sarcoma surgeons) and musculoskeletal aspirates and drainages.

We have an active and supportive group of interventional radiologists ready to assist with, advise on or even perform more challenging procedures.The meeting schedule currently includes a (predominantly body) sarcoma MDM / Tumour board, a weekly paediatric orthopaedic meeting and there is an appetite to establish a regular general orthopaedic meeting.

Our tertiary department commitments include teaching registrars in both diagnostic and procedural elements of musculoskeletal radiology and there is typically a high level of interest and proficiency.

There is also scope to have teaching sessions with medical students and with clinicians from other specialties, particularly orthopaedics.Mo to matou ropu - About our teamHere is your chance to join our multi-skilled, tight-knit team and relocate to one of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand.

Multi-disciplinary meetings are held weekly with involvement from all specialties allowing for a close collegial working environment.The Consultant Radiologist team works closely and supports services across the district, including Emergency, inpatient and outpatient services.The majority of paediatrics services are delivered in the recently completed and wonderful new Te Wao Nui - Child Health service and hospital onsite at Wellington Regional Hospital.

Our Paediatric Radiologists work across hospitals, and are an important part of the wider diagnostic Radiologist team.Our radiology departments at Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital and Hutt Hospital are training sites for Radiology Registrars, MITs and Sonographers.Mou - About YouVocationally registered in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZAreas of experience in Radiology specific to Cardio-thoracic imaging or Musculoskeletal imagingMust participate in the diagnostic radiology on-call rosterRelevant training and specialist experienceBe able to demonstrate collegial working relationships with multi-disciplinary teamsE Pa Ana Ki a Tatou - About UsCapital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
