Job description

Tradestaff is currently seeking a Mechanical Trade Assistant in Taupō. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Assist skilled tradespeople in mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Handle and organize tools, equipment, and materials required for mechanical work.
Prepare work areas by setting up scaffolding, safety barriers, and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
Follow strict safety protocols to ensure work is carried out in compliance with industry standards.
Perform general labour tasks such as equipment handling and material transportation.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Work alongside a skilled team to ensure timely project completion.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and safety practices.

Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks and lift heavy items.

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.

Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Clean criminal history.

Transport and a minimum of a restricted driver’s license.
