This role is critical to ensuring our site operates efficiently, safely, and sustainably – supporting the cutting-edge science that helps keep New Zealand at the forefront of global agricultural excellence.ResponsibilitiesOversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of site facilities and infrastructure.Manage and deliver capital works and scheduled maintenance projects.Monitor and optimise building systems, with a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.Coordinate and supervise contractors across a range of services (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building plant, compliance testing, and more).
Support health, safety, and legislative compliance, including after-hours emergency response on a roster basis.Provide practical engineering support to employees and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.About youA relevant qualification in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
At least 5 years' experience in site or facilities maintenance within a commercial, research, or education environment.Strong technical knowledge across systems such as HVAC, boilers, hot water, BMS, and energy management.Practical skills in carpentry and electrical work.Familiarity with the Health and Safety at Work Act
