Operations Manager - Northpower - WhangareiOur client owns and operates electricity distribution and fibre networks in Whangarei and Kaipara and is one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand, servicing the needs of clients in transmission, distribution, generation and commercial sectors.
Northpower has a reputation for excellence and innovation, providing commercially viable solutions for electrical and telecommunication design, construction, and maintenance requirements.Reporting to the General Manager for Northpower's Northern Contracting business operations, the primary purpose of this role is to grow and deliver a profitable, sustainable and competitive contracting unit focusing on fault repair services, maintenance and construction contracts while ensuring the business unit achieves safety, quality, operational and other key performance targets.
At the heart of this role lies the responsibility for operationally leading and inspiring a large, highly valued workforce - circa 140 staff including seven direct reports.
The Operations Manager will be expected to be highly visible as well as build and develop relationships and effectively communicate with a wide range of Northpower and client stakeholders and staff.This is the perfect job for a confident, engaging Operations expert, someone who enjoys delivering exemplary results through engaging people from all backgrounds and who wants to work for a top employer where talent and capability is recognised and genuine career pathways exist.To secure this role you will need proven operational leadership experience gained in large field force, workplace environments.
Experience gained in contracting, electricity supply or construction would be an advantage.

You'll need a reputation for being able to build trust and maintain strong collaborative working relationships in professional and front line environments and have a reputation that is highly regarded for not being afraid to have courageous conversations or address challenging issues.
